Private sector organizations Joint Declaration at the China-Southeast Asia Business Forum
ACAIT – Dr. Sidonio Freitas, Vice President of CCI-TL for Mineral Resources issues was appointed to represent CCI-TL in Southeast Asia Chine-Business Forum which was held in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.
China has deepened business relations with Asean by convening the first China-Southeast Asia Business Forum (CSEABF) in Kunming.
The meeting was held as a sideline to the 2017 South-Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair, which takes place from June 12 to 18, involving 80 participating nations.
The CSEABF has very ambitious agenda in seeking to play a vital role given its geographic proximity to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, business dialogue and cultural exchange and also to promote private sector cooperation between the Peoples’s Republic of China and ASEAN countries including Timor-Leste. In this Forum, the Chamber of Commerce and industry of Timor-Leste (CCI-TL) represented Timor-Leste private sector celebrating the signing of the cooperation agreement – Joint Declaration of China-Southeast Asia Business Forum together with partners and Business association from Asean and Asia Pacific region.
Six hundred business representatives and officials from China and 10 Asean member countries attended the CSEABF, which was hailed as a milestone for the Belt and Road (or One Belt and One Road) era.
The forum is hosted by the Yunnan Provincial People’s Government and ASEAN-China Center, and it is organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Yunnan Sub-Council and other related departments.
